 As you may have guessed, the turmeric root is in the same family as the ginger root and also has origins in Southeast Asia. Turmeric root also has ties to both medicinal and culinary practices. One immediate difference is the vibrant gold color of turmeric. Fun fact: turmeric powder is what is used to provide the golden color in curry.

Can Turmeric and Ginger Tea Help with Cancer?

Studies have been conducted, cited in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, published in 2018 stating that ginger and turmeric may play a role in blocking the formation of known cancer causing carcinogens, nitroamines and mitroamides.
