New Coffee & Tea Shop to Open in New Britain Downtown District.
INI Sips will feature high-quality organic direct-trade coffees and direct-trade teas, art, and events that will foster the local coffee & tea culture.
January 13, 2019 – New Britain, CT – New Britain Downtown District will have a new independent and veteran and family-owned coffee and tea shop. INI Sips (Facebook: INI Sips) will be located at 53 Columbus Boulevard, New Britain (diagonally across from CTFastrak/around the corner from Amato's toy store). It will officially open its doors on Saturday, January 18, 2019 from 10:00 a.m until 4:00 p.m and will have winter hours of Wednesday - Friday from 9.30 a.m - 2:00 p.m and Saturday from 8:00 a.m - 2:00 p.m.
INI Sips is run by the husband and wife team, Gulaid (proud combat Marine Corps veteran) and Davina Ismail. The name of the business, INI Sips, (pronounced inny), is named after the first letters of their three children's names.
Both INI Sip's coffee and tea are all direct-trade and sourced carefully from around the world. Many of their different coffee and tea blends are also organic. In Spring 2020, all roasting will be done in-house with options for local businesses and non-profits to have custom blends made just for them. Upon opening, INI Sips will serve traditional coffee and tea drinks and will phase in specialty and artisan beverages (both iced and hot options) over time. INI Sips will have freshly brewed tea blends available each day.
Gulaid and Davina hope to also feature products from local small businesses and hold events that will bring together different members of the community. They also want to feature artwork from local artists that will be available for purchase. Gulaid and Davina also want to offer ongoing specials for first responders and city workers.
"We have a long-standing relationship with the Downtown New Britain District going back to 2013 with the CCSU-ITBD program. Our children's clothing company, DribbleBabies, was launched in New Britain and as former residents, we are both excited to continue being a part of the New Britain community," said Davina Ismail, co-owner of INI Sips. "We started the business back in August of 2018 and have been welcomed throughout Connecticut and already have built up a loyal fan base," said Gulaid Ismail. "Our biggest excitement comes from sharing our awesome coffees and teas with New Britain."
