Community Leaders - Commission on Persons with Disabilities (New Britain, CT)

We are pleased to announce that for the month of July 2021, we will providing a portion of sales to support the Commission on Persons with Disabilities, New Britain, CT. 

The Commission works to support people of all ages with all types of disabilities, which include physical, intellectual, mental health, hearing and vision disabilities.  The Community Services Department provide services which range from a parent looking for resources for their child who has Autism or other special needs; a veteran who has mental health issues and is having difficulty in the community, to a person who is addicted to drugs and is looking for inpatient treatment,  or a person with Alzheimer’s  whose neighbors are concerned about the wellbeing of that person.

They make an incredible impact on the community by fostering a welcoming, accessible community that provides:

  • advocacy
  • care coordination
  • counseling
  • crisis intervention
  • education; and more

The Commission works diligently to encourage and support persons with disabilities through public awareness events that highlight their abilities. These include: Annual Ability Walk & Roll 3rd Wednesday of July Annual Employment Awards Breakfast.
