Meet Assam BOP (broken orange pekoe), the essential component of any chai recipe. Using the CTC (cut, tear, curl) method, the tea leaf is transformed into small pellets — which are then used to brew a malty, robust, fragrant cup of chai. Due to the strength of our Assam BOP, we recommend a shorter steep time of 2-3 minutes. Though this rich tea can be enjoyed on its own, we like adding a drop of milk, cream, or other non-dairy products to coax out the subtle citrus undertones.
